An American Brunch in Paris: Renoma Café Gallery

Brunch Renoma Cafe Gallery Paris

With our willpower at a low ebb, we couldn’t resist trying out the American brunch at the Renoma Café Gallery, the relaxed and resolutely jolly venue at the Triangle d’Or. And when your food intake swings between pizza orders and uncontrolled dreams of junk food between two starred tables, the best thing is to find THE brunch which combines quality with dishes which will have you drooling yellow cheese and red ketchup.

Let’s talk about the brunch at the Renoma Café Gallery, whose lunch we’d already taken a strong liking to. On Sundays from 12 to 4 pm it’s brunch American-style for everyone! Children can eat or go off to play with the entertainer provided for them, while couples, pals, families and unidentified groups fill themselves to busting point with bagels before ordering a monumental cheeseburger (with or without bacon), a big salad, an omelet or sumptuous eggs Benedict, together with some cereals, waffles, pancakes and savory and sweet buffet items.

Buffet brunch or brunch served at the table? Both!

Half buffet(s), half table service (the option of an à la carte dish), the brunch at the Renoma Café finds a good balance between relaxation, service and an explosion comforting flavors.

As coffee-addict girls, Brunch at Renoma worked out very well: it’s unlimited ‘help yourself’, with items such as freshly squeezed orange juice or grapefruit juice. Craving for light and delicious food, ladies, California-style? Go for an egg-white omelet, soya milk and fruit salad, Mesdemoiselles!

Seek your happiness among the various buffets with pastries, cereals, bagels, pancakes, waffles, French toast, charcuterie, smoked salmon, fromage blanc, mixed salad leaves, coleslaw, various sausages, desserts (fruit salad, crumble, chocolate mousse, fromage blanc) and taste the delicious freshly squeezed fruit juices , hot chocolate (the sort that rotates in a machine…) and coffee, because it’s there!

Order a dish of your choice from the menu, including : scrambled eggs, Eggs Benedict, plain omelet, fine herbs omelet, cheese and ham, tomato and goat’s cheese and courgettes, egg white omelet, cheeseburger, cheeseburger with bacon, sandwiches, huevos rancheros, steak tartare (!), steak, Californian or Caesar salad…

Having feasted our eyes on the buffets and our main course (see below…), we demolished with giant bites our bagel spread with Philadelphia cheese, with layers of salmon, turkey, coleslaw, salad, onion and sliced tomato, before attacking a gargantuan, colossal burger, with the meat cooked perfectly to our taste (very rare on the left, well done on the right), with cheese melting on top of it, burger sauce, and pickle…the pickle ! Just as we like it, kiddos… Well into the swing of it, we would have loved to have fries with the burger, but, well … they were on the menu for the children at the next table, not on our plates!

In short, we overdid it. Eyes too big for our stomachs, let’s have a little more chocolate mousse and panna cotta; we’ll worry about it later. After all, we took no cheese, or crumble, or Haribo sweets … well, OK, we really weren’t there for the fromage blanc, were we?

Plus, with regard to the chocolate mousse, be aware that it spreads marvelously well on a waffle or fresh bread (but ssh, there’s Nutella on it, too).

Service: first rate, smiling, all of them. True Sunday happiness.

And how did the digestion go?

Joyfully. And we’ll be going back when we have the urge, of course.
